My First Sabbath Hike

She is so adorable.

We got cactus's in our shoes and legs. He walked barefoot for half the hike and made me carry his shoes...eventually he realized it would hurt less if he actually wore them.

Micah and I were the only two that didn't know how to cart-wheel. These pictures are our failed attempts.

Ben: The sand sticks to our legs because we have hair on them.
He was right. I tried and the sand slipped right off. (:

Scarlet and Ellen! Super sweet and chill.

Brendan and his backflips. I'm jealous. Except he ended up landing on his face...either way it's cool.

I love the faces people make when throwing and catching things. Priceless.

The view from just outside my dorm.

A huge bug outside our dorm. (:

End of Week 2

Time is flying by fast. I feel as though I've been here for months already. Friendships have been solidified and memories made. Classes are challenging but manageable when you sit down and concentrate. P.E. is crazy intense and really makes my muscles scream. (Eventually they will adjust and just grimace in pain.) Work hasn't varied much. I have been subject to the cafe 80% of the time and farm the other little while. I'd much rather be outside enjoying the warmth before autumn turns its chill face in our direction.

FILMING! What an experience. Waking up in tents with no showers or bathrooms. There was an outhouse... (quiver). The hot tub water in the morning became my hair's best friend while camping out. I look at it this way...both the hot tub water and the lake water are disgusting and filthy...so why not choose the warmer one when the outside tempterature is at freezing? Power generators were brought out for the girls to curl, straighten, and blowdry. Wonderful meals served. Great song services sung. Frozen feet. The last day brought about me jumping off the moving dock into 60 degree lake water, climbing into a canoe that was being pulled by the moving barge, then eventually building the courage to get back in the water and pull myself through the current back to the barge. I was cold and tired none-the-least.

This is Fountainview.

Someone borrowed my camera and I found Derek.

Mason is my best buddy. His blog is a must visit!

They were trying to dye their hair with lemon juice. It didn't work.

We tried "wakeboarding" with some wood. Water was probably below 60 degrees.

The garbage canoes and extras.

We played Ninja a lot.

Mason's beautiful eyelashes! We curled them for him. (:

Playing Pabo! A must learn game.

Spinach - Causing Slime

Well...my first week at Fountainview had officially ended! I don't regret coming one bit. Sure, not everything is enjoyable such as: sorting through expired spinach, washing dishes 2 times a day, catching up on the homework that was missed, etc. But everything is definately "character building".

While sorting through that slightly expired spinach and lettuce, I did occasionally find a good piece in the batch, but those few good pieces became covered in the slime of the ugly ones. They were not pure anymore and couldn't be used for the lunch salad.
It's the same with out walk in Christ. We, being Christians, are in the process of being refined. People would tend to consider the sincere Christian a "good" piece of lettuce. However, when we surround ourselves with people of the world..we begin to act as they. Our characters begin to be marred with the slime of the worldlings.

Be watchful as to who you accept in your circle of friends. See if your friends are bringing you closer to the heavenward way, or are causing you to ride a downward spiral to destruction.

Best way to get ahold of me - - bmuller@fastudent.ca or call the girls dorm between 7-9 pm BC time. (:
